Food editor Ginna Parsons (7:10) joins Emma Kent and Derek Russell on today’s episode to talk about a new chicken restaurant that is coming to Belden.
King Chicken Fillin’ Station will occupy the former Belden gas station and will specialize in all -things chicken. The collective of owners includes Tupelo restaurateur Mitch McCamey, who owns KOK and co-owns Neon Pig.
Ginna also talks about the rest of this week’s food section. That includes Cook of the Week Brenda Harrison, a Baldwyn woman who can cook for two or 200. She likes casseroles and appetizers, and her specialty is potatoes.
Meanwhile, Ginna discusses a new recipe she tried for washboard cookies – they’re kind of like shortbread but are not too sweet. The cookies are light and are good with coffee or tea.
Also on today’s episode, Derek (16:13) talks about this weekend’s entertainment scene. That includes the Grinch at the Oren Dunn City Museum, Battle of the Bands at the Tupelo Cotton Mill, a performance of “A Christmas Story” in Corinth, and a holiday concert at the Link Centre.
