Daily Journal food editor Ginna Parsons (4:09) joins Emma and Derek on today’s episode to talk about her recent trip to Italy and what she ate while she was there.
That includes a recipe for cacio e pepe, or cheese and pepper, a pasta dish she wrote about in this week’s food section.
Ginna also talks about this weekend’s food bazaar from the St. James Ladies Club.
Her Cook of the Week is Ripley’s Betty Dobbs, who likes old-fashioned country cooking. Her specialties include tater tot casserole, beef tips with English peas, and chicken and dressing.
Scott Morris (14:30) reviews “Thank You for Your Service.” The movie tells the true story of three former soldiers battling with post-traumatic stress after fighting in the Middle East. Scott said it is a solid portrayal of what these guys are going through as they try to readjust to life in the United States.
And Derek (22:30) has the highlights of the weekend entertainment scene. That includes concerts by Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Aaron Lewis, and Blackberry Smoke. Meanwhile, Tupelo High School presents “Daddy’s Dyin’: Who’s Got the Will?”
