On today’s “weekend special” edition of The Memo, food editor Ginna Parsons (7:14) joins Derek and Brad to highlight this week’s food section of the Daily Journal. That includes recipes for slow cooker orange chicken and Kentucky Brown open-faced sandwiches, as well as Cook of the Week Jean Schickling.
M. Scott Morris (15:32) reviews “Moonlight,” which received a rare A-plus grade from him. Scott said the unique storytelling style and the way the film earns its emotional payoffs make the whole add up to more than the sum of its parts.
Derek (24:40) has the highlights of the weekend entertainment scene, including an elaborate production of “Beauty and the Beast” by New Albany High School students. Other events include Tupelo Community Theatre’s “Love Letters,” West of Shake Rag and comedian Nephew Tommy.
