Daily Journal education reporter Emma Kent (16:12) joins Derek and Brad to talk about the start of a new year and an increased emphasis in Northeast Mississippi classrooms on preparing students for their future careers.
Also on today’s show, Daily Journal law enforcement reporter William Moore (6:51) provides an update on the Antwun “Ronnie” Shumpert shooting case. On Monday, a Lee County grand jury cleared Tupelo Police officer Tyler Cook of any state criminal charges in the shooting. Shumpert’s family, however, is continuing with its civil suit and calling for a separate federal investigation.
