Both Mississippi State and Ole Miss will host college baseball regional tournaments this weekend. Daily Journal business editor Dennis Seid (7:48) joins Derek and Brad to discuss the economic impact of having large crowds in Oxford and Starkville for those games.
Also on today’s show, Bobby Harrison (13:50) puts context on a debate on the economic impact of House Bill 1523. That is the new law that allows businesses and government officials not to provide services for same-sex marriages. State Rep. Steve Holland said on Tuesday that 13 companies looking to expand were taking Mississippi off the list because of the legislation. Meanwhile, Mississippi Development Authority executive director Glenn McCullough said he knew of no such projects the state had lost because of the bill.
M. Scott Morris (23:52) reviews “X-Men: Apocalypse,” and Derek (32:41) breaks down this weekend’s entertainment scene, including Tupelo’s annual Elvis Festival.
Also, Brad delves into his love for wearing shorts. It’s going to be a long summer.
